Its been 2 years since I have been using WordPress. And since then have used several WordPress plugins. Many of them helped me a lot on my way but some of them were not yet ready to be used and just wasted my time. Then I started to check reviews and ratings before installing plugins in any of my client sites and started to realize that this should be considered as an obligation by each of us to rate and give reviews for the plugins that we use as it may help some one out there to choose the right stuff.
I just went through some of most popular WordPress plugins to get some numbers and here is what I got.
*Contact form 7 which is second most popular plugin with 23,178,314 downloads had only 2468 reviews which is only about 0.01% of the total downloads.
*All in One SEO Pack which is third most popular plugin with 21,238,879 downloads had only 1652 reviews which makes about 0.007% can’t believe.
*Jetpack By WordPress which again is one of the most popular WordPress plugin with 13,826,180 downloads found to have a total of 1539 reviews which again is about 0.01% just like contact form 7.
What above numbers conclude is, not even one out of thousand users are participating in doing this noble act (yes this is how I tag it).
For contributing WordPress community its not necessary for an individual to be some developer or like, rather if you just know how to install and use a plugin then you can help others with your feedback.
